We had a great time last weekend at Yorkville’s “Gears and Ears” car show.  The Midwest Street Rod Association of Illinois hosts this big event every summer.  They have a corn boil, frozen-wet shirt competition, a swap meet, games for kids, pin-striping fundraisers for charity and of course A LOT OF CARS!   This year, there were roughly 650 cars in the show.  We were featured in the main building with the Mulsanne!

If you weren’t able to come this year, drive out to Yorkville for next year.  It’s a great family-friendly show with cars, trucks, and bikes for everyone!

We just kicked off car show season with the small show at Jenning’s Terrace in Aurora.  We are glad to sponsor the event for the 4th year in a row and really glad to see that the funds raised this year will be going to expanding the outdoor activity space for the Jenning’s residents.

Several of our regular customers brought their incredible cars.  Paul M’s beautiful ’54 Chevy won a trophy in its class!  Our driver Curt and his grand daughter brought her first car, a pearl-black Pontiac G6 convertible!  It is definitely a future collectible.

FVS Owner Jim brought his ’89 Bentley Mulsanne S and a jar of Grey Poupon.  Do YOU have any Grey Poupon?

2015 was a BIG year for us!  We met many new people, starting working with some new companies and used THOUSANDS of pounds of powder coat to make new and old parts look great!

We have recently spent time with some of our suppliers to develop custom color-matching powder coats.  If you have a project that needs something special or an exact paint-match that has the durability of fully-cured powder coat, all we need is a small sample of the color we are trying to match.  Often, a small bottle of automotive touchup paint will do the trick!

Everyone’s summer projects are finally finishing up!

We have done MANY railings for our friends in the ornamental iron business as people begin to move into new homes and modify their existing homes.  SOME of the companies we have recently done ornamental railings for include: G&M Ornamental, RS Iron Works, MDO Welding, O’Malley Welding and others!
