We’ve been working hard on an 1889 Spanish-American War US Cannon.  After 5 months of heating, blasting, coating, disassembly, reassembly, cleaning, polishing, wheelrighting and finally loading it onto our truck and onto the display pad, it is done and looking great!

Everyone at FVS had a hand in getting this cannon done in time for Memorial day.  We have to give a special thanks to Rick at Device Tech for his fabrication and machining.  We also thank Mark at O’Malley Welding and Fabricating for helping move his 2500 pound piece of artilery as well as his share of fabrication work!  Rob Henderson of Colorado (formerly Aurora, Il) did a fantastic job on the wooden wagon wheels, it was great talking to him today!

We hope all of you can make it to the rededication ceremony on Sunday at 1pm at the Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery.  The cannon is surrounded by American flags for the holiday and overlooks the granite “Riverside Cemetery” sign.
